why is it that mainstream porn is so skittish about genital piercings while in BDSM they're common if perhaps even considered tame?

I was unaware of mainstream porn being skittish about piercings at all. I've known and worked with many porn stars and never was this an issue.

Perhaps it's not a policy of the industry, so much as it merely a coincidentally popular personal decision among porn performers to not be pierced.
